For Nonprofits

Nonprofit Accounting and Bookkeeping, Led by a CPA

Most small nonprofits don't need a full-time accountant. They need books they can trust, a 990 filed on time, and reports the board can read. Harvest Place gives nonprofits monthly accounting led by a CPA who spent a decade auditing nonprofits, so your books are built the way your auditor and grantors expect.

What We Handle

  • Monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliations in QuickBooks Online
  • Tracking restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and donor gifts
  • Monthly financial statements and a one-page board dashboard
  • Form 990, 990-EZ, and 990-N preparation
  • Grant reporting and budget-to-actual reports
  • Audit preparation and coordination with your auditor

Why a CPA-Led Approach Matters

Most audit findings at small nonprofits trace back to the monthly books: grants recorded as general income, restricted funds spent without a release, or reconciliations nobody reviewed. Ben has seen those issues from the auditor's side. Your books are set up to avoid them from the start, which usually means a smoother audit and fewer adjusting entries.

We work alongside your executive director, treasurer, or in-house bookkeeper. The goal is to support your team, not replace it.

Packages

Nonprofit bookkeeping starts at $550/month with the Foundation package. Organizations that need grant reporting, budgets, and board packets usually fit the Growth package.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you prepare our Form 990?
Yes. When we keep your books, the 990 is prepared from the same records, so the numbers tie out.
Can you perform our audit?
No. An audit has to be done by an independent firm. We keep your books audit-ready and work with your auditor so the process goes faster.
We already have a bookkeeper. Can you still help?
Yes. Many clients keep their bookkeeper and use us for monthly review, reporting, and the 990.
Our books are behind. Where do we start?
With a Cleanup & Catch-Up project. We bring the books current, then move to a monthly package.
Do you work with nonprofits outside Tallahassee?
Yes. We're based in Tallahassee and meet in person with clients in Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, Liberty, and Calhoun counties. Everything else runs virtually, so we work with nonprofits anywhere in the U.S.
